Kathy
12 years on the road
"I love the feeling of peace that I get when I drive through the mountains and see the road stretch out in front of me. It's a feeling similar to what I felt when I was a kid. I'd lie down on my back in the grass looking up at the clouds. There's nothing like it. It sounds funny, but I think I feel closer to my family when I am on the road than any other time.
My parents have been my biggest inspiration. Whatever they set their mind to they did it. They thought me that there wasn't anything I couldn't do. I've always wanted to be a pilot, and that is still in the works, but trucking is what I chose. I'm also an instructor at a trucking school and that gives me the pleasure of doing two jobs that I really love."
